Hypochondriac

I am not a hypochondriac. I have a lot of medical issues & bad luck.

So, of course my doctor looked @ me like I was freakin' nuts when I said I wanted to her to make sure I didn't have a brain tumor.  Wait, reverse :

Today I had an appointment with my Primary Care Physician (PCP).  I have been getting these headaches for a while now.  They will come, stay for a few weeks & go away for a few months. Then, they'll come back again & it just keeps repeating. This has been going on for almost a year.  I have never been diagnosed with migraines, but my brother, Brian, has (this is not the oldest brother whom I loathe).  He used to come home from work & would crawl to his room. They were so debilitating.  I didn't think I had "migraines" because I would never feel as bad as my brother did, until last week.

Last week, I started feeling pressure around my eye. That happens right before a headache comes on.  Then, the headache really set it & I got nauseous.  Really nauseous.  I was so miserable the whole day.  I had to work, of course.  I came home & took a Phenergan & was a gone pecan. I was dead to the world.  When I woke up, it had gone away (but it had also been like 8 hours).

AnyWHO, I asked her if there was some kind of scan that we could do because with my luck I have some sort of brain tumor.  I know, yall think I am crazy.  Oh well!  It just freaks me out because I get a lot of pressure around my left eye & I feel like it is going to pop out! That makes me worried that something is actually there pressing against it.  I know, I know, rantings from a  rrazy person.  That's just how it feels.

Because she is the wonderful doctor that she is, she said she would go ahead & order a CT scan.  She doesn't think I have anything to worry about other than migraines, but she said since this is a recent onset, we could go ahead and check it out.  Yay!  Also, she sent in a prescription to increase my Prozac to 40mg (yay again.. we think that's causing some of the migraines) & a script for Fioricet.  I have dispensed that a lot, but never taken it. We'll see how it goes! I'll keep you posted.

How is everyone else doing today? Anyone have any strange ailments & or issues that they would like to discuss. I'm all ears, or eyes shall I say.

Woman pregnant with 2 babies, not twins

WHAT THE  HELL?  Pregnant woman.. gets pregnant? No freakin' way! Can us non-preggers get pregnant? Give me a break!

BOILING POINT - CHECK! (rant)

Okay, be forewarned - this post will contain a lot of swearing :

As you may or may not know, I have serious anxiety issues. I mean, seriously.  I am not going to pretend that I am a level headed individual. I have often wondered if I am bi-polar, because sometimes I'm okay & then sometimes I'm just.. ARGGHHH!!! But I don't have extreme highs & lows like that & all of the doctors have assured me that I just have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (& a serious hormonal imbalance). With that all being said, I had a horrible night!

These fucking people at Walgreens are going to make me lose my shit!  No lie! My hubby doesn't understand why I let people get me so worked up. It's called anxiety.  I just can't help it!

This douchebag comes in & says

"Uh (looks at nametag) Kelsey. I think you helped me last time & said my (C2 narcotic name here) was too early.  I want you to look it up and tell me if I can fill it before I wait 20 minutes."

Me:"Okay, Mr. Douchebag. Let's see.  Yes, I'm sorry. Unfortunately you're still a little too early on that. It was last filled on August 27 and the pharmacists here won't let us fill any narcotics more than 2 days early. I'm sorry"

Douchebag: "See, I just don't get it. The last time I got it was Aug 27, what's too early about that?"
Then he storms off, then he comes back.

Douchebag: "I want to see that in writing."

Me: "Pharmacist! Can you please come speak with this gentleman about his medication?"

Well, ASSHOLE Pharmacist goes over there & completely disregards everything I have said about this! Of course he is a substitute because all of our pharmacists are at other stores because they're all immunizers.  Why do we get stuck with dumb jerks?

Anyway, he tells this guy that I was talking about the insurance.  Uh, no, I wasn't.  So, the guy asks him to run it on the insurance to see if they will pay for it.  They do, of course.  But that's not the fucking point!! The point is: it is TOO FUCKING EARLLLYYY!!!  So, I ask him if we are filling it for him & he says yes.  & I told him (by him I mean the pharmacist) that I wasn't saying that because of the insurance, I was saying it because it was too early.  Apparently he didn't give a shit because he didn't even blink.  What a jerk!  All of my fellow techs were pissed with me.  What the hell is this guy doing?   We don't go just filling Controlled Substances all WILLY NILLY!

 && I'm done

a normal day turns to hormones pissing me off!

I woke up,
put my slippers on (the cutest ever, by the way)..

& decided to try one of those special k shakes blended with ice;

Then, while I was brushing my teeth, I noticed:

ACNE?!
Do you see the disgust?

& so..
HORMONES SUCK

Musical Monday, a little late

OOPS! I knew I would forget! Here goes:

Sara Bareilles- "Gravity"

Something always brings me back to you

It never takes too long

No matter what I say or do

I still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone

You hold me without touch

You keep me without chains

I never wanted anything so much

Than to drown in your love and not feel your rain

Set me free, leave me be

I don't wanna fall another moment into your gravity

Here I am and I stand so tall

I'm just the way I'm supposed to be

But you're on to me and all over me

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile

When I thought that I was strong

But you touch me for a little while

And all my fragile strength is gone

Set me free, leave me be

I don't wanna fall another moment into your gravity

Here I am and I stand so tall

I'm just the way I'm supposed to be

But you're on to me and all over me

I live here on my knees

As I try to make you see

That you're everything I think I need

Here on the ground

But you're neither friend nor foe

Though I can't seem to let you go

The one thing that I still know

Is that you're keeping me down

You're keeping me down

You're on to me, on to me and all over

Something always brings me back to you

It never takes too long

EXERCISE & OH CRAP, I FORGOT MY MEDICINE!

Okay, so in the middle of writing my title, I realized I had forgotten my Fortamet last night. DAMN!  I was so tired after our walk around the neighborhood that I forgot my meds! Oh well.

Yes, yes, my husband & I exercised last night! YAY! We both need to lose weight & we are trying to get on track.  We were talking about why we are making certain lifestyle changes in our walk.

April 1st (which happened to be my hubby's 32nd b-day), we decided to quit smoking.  I made that promise to myself & haven't looked back. Not once. Not even when I wanted more than anything else in the world to have one tiny puff.

My hubby, on the other hand, has.  Several times.  I don't sound bitter, do I?  Okay, okay, maybe a little at first.

I made that commitment to my babies. No, no, I don't have any.. yet. But I know I will, by any means necessary (Clomid, IUI, adoption, etc). I want to be healthy for my future children. I, not only want to bring healthy babies into this world, but I want to be healthy for them.  I want them to be able to grow up with both of their parents.  That's why I am so worried about my hubby maintaining his quit.

I'm not worried about my health for my sake. Isn't that sad?  But my hubby isn't worried about his health for his sake either.  Last night, as we were walking, he said one of the sweetest things he'd ever said to me.  He said "I'm doing this all to make you happy. I'm not concerned about myself, I'm worried about your happiness. Is that bad?"

No.. well.. yes, BUT IT WAS SO SWEET! I don't think your motivation really matters, only that you do it.

Oh yes, ICLW'ers, if you want to know a little more about me, click here.

Opinions, please!

Have any of you tried Pre-Seed?  As you know, next cycle (approaching rapidly) I will be on Clomid. I have heard a lot of things about what it does & I want to be prepared. I was about to order Pre-Seed when I started thinking.. am I going to benefit externally from something that is intravaginally inserted? I know that what goes in must come out, but I want to make sure this is going to be worth it.  Otherwise, should I just get Pre'?  Any opinions?

Patrick Swayze

It has been a few days since he's passed, but this is the first time I have been able to admit to myself that he's actually gone. Poor Patrick Swayze.  He was my first crush!

My husband's father died of pancreatic cancer.

Patrick survived a lot longer than most people do with that illness.

I wish I had met both of them before they died.

the HUBS

he is such a silly ass!!

& he eats really weird things.. like shake & bake pork chops with white queso; he eats anything with cheese & bacon.  Like last night, he ate a shrimp po'boy with cheese & bacon.  Blehh!

LIKE IT OR NOT *TMI*

My husband & I have not been BD'ing lately. Oh yes, according to Dr. G, we should be bd'ing at least every other night right now. But alas, we are not. Why, you ask? I'll tell you why!

This is how it is:

I want to, but his back hurts. He wants to, but my back hurts.  He wants to, but I'm tired.  I want to, but he's tired.  We want to, but we're both tired.  We want to, but there's no time.  When we finally do decide to sometimes I am too uncomfortable to enjoy it..

REALLY TMI:

I love sex with my husband.  He's good at it, I'm good at it.  We are trying to get pregnant. You know, there's no reason not to love it!  But as you know, I have back problems.  He also has them.  It isn't just because we're overweight, either.  I have a disc pinching a nerve & he has a disc degeneration problem.  We need to get better.

Last night I asked him if we were going to BD.  He said "probably not, baby.  My back hurts" && I said "HOW ARE WE GOING TO HAVE BABIES IF WE NEVER HAVE SEX?!"

Hmph.  I keep "warning" him that when we start Clomid (in a couple of weeks) we are having sex whether he likes it or not!

Just stop trying!

Today (today seemed so long I didn't realize it wasn't today, but last night!!loll)

Last night, a girl I used to work with came in.  I was asking her about when she was getting married & we talked about her kids.  She said that she had heard I was trying to get pregnant (EVERYONE knows I am, it's not something I hide).  I said "yes we are trying, but I'm not..yet."

And she said one of the worst things that someone can say when you are TTC.  "STOP TRYING! If you stop trying, then it will happen."

WHAT-THE FUCK EVER (excuse my language) !!!!!

From the time we got engaged to the time we got married, we weren't preventing it, but we weren't trying.  That was over 6 months of "not trying."  If "not trying" was going to work for me, I'm pretty sure I'd have popped out a baby by now. Only people who have kids say that.  They have no idea what it's like.  Just because you are fertile myrtle doesn't mean everybody is.  I just hate that shit!

You do not know what's going on! Who asked you, anyway?

Did I say "Oh please, please tell me how you had your babies, so that I may follow your advice & have umpteen babies!!?" NO.. I DID NOT!  Keep your opinions/advice to yourself until I ask for it!!!!!! Or until you can say you have been in my position & know what you are talking about!!!

I DON'T OVULATE YOU FUCKING MORON!  My ovaries aren't spitting out an egg to be fertilized every month & I need assistance in that department. Why don't you just shut your mouth until you know what's going on?

UGHH! EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE IN THIS POST, PUT THAT JUST PISSED ME OFF!

Nothing to do with fertility, but to do with my job.

On Yahoo! today:

2. Pharmacy Technician

Bottom 10% earn: $7.88 per hour

U.S. median salary: $9.93 per hour

Job description: Assist pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication. Prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles and unit dose packaging. Collect patient information for prescription and billing. Select, prepare and stock medications.

Do you find all of those little pills confusing when you have more than one to take? Your local pharmacy technician processes hundreds of prescriptions a day and absolutely must keep the blue ones separate from the green ones. The wrong dose or medication can have possibly fatal consequences. These folks deserve a big thank-you for the work they do, but they'd likely settle for a raise.

WOW, thank goodness I make more than that. That's ridiculous! 9 bucks?

I mean.. what the hell, man?  Is it the dye from yesterday? I know I can speak to them, but I wish they could answer back!  Although, I guess I'm glad they can't give me any 'tude. I really don't need anything else to make me more hostile..

If I have to get some crazy scan or alskdlakjsldkajsgram because of your shenanigans, I'm gonna be pissed!  CUT IT OUT!  Now what's wrong with you?

BIRTHDAY cake

I had a semi-eventful day.  I went to a birthday party for one of my friend's daughters.  Her birthday is actually on Sept. 22, but they never seem to have good luck when they do a party closer to her bday.  She is going to be 9 years old. I feel old!  Well, I guess I do & don't. Yes, I remember vividly when Alexis was a baby; I was only 14 years old when she was born, though!  My friend was only 14.  I remember my dad flipping & not wanting me to see her once he found out she was preggers (actually, once he found out she had a baby more like it--I knew he'd flip so I didn't say anything until she had her).

This party was full of children! It further punctuated my feeling of inadequacy that I haven't become a mother yet.  I love kids, but lately being around them just reminds me that I don't have any of my own.  I know, I know, I'm young!  I always hear "You have your whole life ahead of you.  You have time!"  BLAH BLAH!

I married a man 9 years older than me.  Even if I have 10-15 years, he doesn't want to be having his first child @ 45. I don't blame him!  If it happens, well, it happens, but I'd rather not be in that particular situation.  I am not condemning anyone who has babies @ 45.. don't get me wrong. Hell, my dad was 46 when I was born (&& 53 when my lil bro was born). Eh, that's probably why I am not wasting anytime trying to have some little ones!

Uhm, yeah.. one day I hope to be in my friend's position. Having a busy, exhausting day celebrating the birthday of one my children!

HOO-HAH!

So, my husband & I had a long day!

My hubby comes in & wakes me up at 5:45am.  My injection appt was at 8:00am, they said we had to be there for 7:30am, but with traffic in the morning, he wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to get there.  This was strange because I am usually the person that has to wake him up. I realized very quickly that he was awake because he had never gone to sleep! WONDERUL!  He's just loads of fun when he's tired.

So, we get to the Imaging Center @ 7am. Yeah, 7am.  He was aware that I was perturbed that I had been awoken out of my slumber to be there 30 minutes early! No matter, we were there.  After 30 minutes of waiting in the car, we walked into the center & I got signed in. They took me back almost immediately.  I got an IV & got prepped for the procedure.  They pumped me full of drugs & then some.  I was in heaven & didn't feel a thing :))  My back still hurts, but it does take a day or two for the steroids to take effect.

I had an appt for a flu shot @ work, but we were both so sleepy we decided to cancel that and opted for a nap instead.

We went to Woman's Hospital (where my GYN is & also where my HSG was done). We had to go pay for my doctor's part of the procedure beforehand.  Then, it was down to the Radiology Department.  Well, it wasn't that easy.  There was a lot of walking & asking involved.  I had no idea where I was going!

Well, here comes the fun part!  (might be TMI for some readers!!) :

My doctor had prepared me for the HSG.  She told me what it involved & that I might experience some cramping.  I made my hubby hold my hand!

This I will describe in great detail, because I feel I must share my violation in its' entirety.

I removed everything below the belt & put a gown over myself (as is standard for an "annual"--no surprise there).  I proceeded to get on this hard x-ray table, scoot my butt all the way down to the end, with no stirrups & show my cash & prices to Dr. G & the paintings on the wall.  She says "I will insert the speculum, just like with your pap smear." Okay, you know, I have had those before, I'll be fine!!

This was like an ultra sized speculum!  It felt soo much bigger than the one I am used to during paps.  I mean.. WTF?

After this, I let everyone in the room know that there was NO WAY I was having a baby vaginally sans epidural.  Shit on that! Not gonna do it, not gonna do it!! & the doctor replies "well, you won't need a speculum to have a baby."

Touche'.  But I am sure my VAH-JAY-JAY is going to be stretched a hell of a lot more than this speculum is stretching it!!  I mean.. come on Dr. G, get real!

So, after all of this, I do find out some good news. My tubes are clear.  Thank you TUBES!!  I was hoping I hadn't gone through all that bullshit just to find out I had MORE things to worry about than PCOS.

The next time I am experiencing painful pain (as opposed to pleasureable pain--hush, you know you like it) in & around my HOO-HAH, there better be a little life coming out of it!

We were told to try this month & hubby needs to get his sperm sample in & call the doc on cycle day one next month.  WOO HOO!

My dad.

I am sooo tired. I slept 2 hours last night.

My dad had a radio frequency ablation done today.  I actually had the same thing done a few years ago. He is doing well, because of his advanced age, they are keeping him over night.  He started having some bleeding a few hours ago, but now he's fine.

I have a lot going on tomorrow. My injection, my flu shot & the HSG. I'll let ya know how things go!

Working today

I hope I don't flip out on anyone today!  I work today, then I am off for 3 days. Tomorrow, I have to go with my dad to New Orleans to get an ablation procedure done (I actually had the same thing done a few years ago).  He is 68 & has a history of health problems so they are going to keep him overnight just to monitor him.

Friday, I am getting another steroid injection. I hope this one lasts!!  I just called my GYN, we'll see if I can get someone on the phone today! I was hoping maybe I could make an appt. for the procedure for Friday.  I know, I know, it's kind of short notice, but I have been calling them since Friday (when I started) & we keep missing each other!!  If I don't get to do this Friday, I'm just not going to be able to do it this cycle & I am not waiting that long!

I'll keep yall updated!

Hormones? WTF!

I was at work, minding my own business, doing 23092309809238 things at one time & my boss keeps adding. I need you to do this & 5 minutes later I need you to do this & blah blah.. & he passes by me & says are you getting that stupid shit (obviously not what he said-he actually pointed to what was in front of me & said "this")done that I wanted you to do.  Well, that was it. The straw that broke the camel's back.  I flipped.  I said "YES, YES I AM DOING IT! I ONLY HAVE 2 ARMS & 2 LEGS I AM DOING EVERYTHING AS FAST AS I CAN!!! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? I'M ONLY DOING 47 THINGS RIGHT NOW.. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"  Actually, I'm not quite sure that's what I said, but it was something to that effect!  He said "you don't have to get an attitude."

I was thinking.. "I am totally beyond an "attitude" now."  I know yall think I am like psycho or something, but I feel I have to explain. I have a serious anxiety issue!  I have recently been switched from Cymbalta to Prozac.  It isn't working quite as well as the Cymbalta!  && I have hormonal issues toppping it all off..

TIRED

I am so tired!  I haven't been sleeping all that well lately.  It probably has a little something to do with my back & the fact that I have been working weird hours.  Friday & Saturday I worked like 8am to 4pm.  Yesterday, I worked 3pm-12am.  Yeah.. YEAH! That's why I can't sleep!!

I'm probably more tired because AF is in town.  She is really making up for lost time.  Thanks Aunt Flo. Thanks a lot!

Sooo, I just have to call the GYN tomorrow & schedule the procedure to look at my tubes. Wish me luck!

FERTILE FRIKKIN MYRTLE

It must be nice to be a Fertile Myrtle. I wouldn't know, as I am Fertile Myrtle's opposite: Infertile Myrtle.

One of the ladies I work with has a daughter-her daughter has 3 kids. One of which is 7 months old.  She is now preggers again.  I mean.. is it in the water or something? Maybe I should drink from the tap after all.  My friend says her daughter shouldn't even be able to get pregnant because of her thyroid issues & other health problems. But yet, she has 3 kids, all of whom were healthy at birth and continue to thrive.

My coworker said "BABY FOR SALE! My daughter is pregnant, AGAIN!"  By the way, this situation is made worse by the fact that her daughter lives with her & doesn't have a job, meanwhile, she has 2.

So, I say "I'll take it!!"  Everyone at work knows my husband & I are trying to get pregnant & that I absolutely love kids.  I say "I am so serious, if she is looking to give it up for adoption, I will take it!"  She said that she was serious about her daughter looking into adoption. Wow.. really?

I really am serious. I know that we may be able to have kids after trying Clomid/other fertility drugs.. but we may not & even after that, I've always thought about also adopting a child.  Is this a sign?  Was her daughter meant to get preggers so I could have a baby?  Eh, probably not, but still.  I look forward to finding out what her daughter ultimately decides. She is thinking about it.

In other news, work sucked & I am glad I am off!

WOO HOOO, AUNT FLO CAME TO TOWN!

Well, of course Aunt Flo waited until I had to go back to work before she decided to show up. Not only did I have to deal with all of the extra things that go with the prescriptions and billing for immunizations (which we have just started doing at my Walgreens), but I had to deal with the horrible cramps!

I can't be mad though, Aunt Flo came alright.  I just always seem to forget how painful my cramps are, until I get them again. They are ridiculous.

DEAR AUNT FLO

Dear Aunt Flo,

Hi. How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while.  You used to come over the same time each month.  Then, after a while, you didn't come as frequently & when you did come, it wasn't when I expected.  The last time I saw you, you weren't doing very well.  I am afraid something is wrong with you. Are you okay?

I know I have said some nasty things to you in the past. I know I have said once or twice or maybe even twenty times that I didn't want you, but that was a lie! Aunt Flo, really it was!

I'm writing because I was expecting you to come around August 15th and it is September 3rd now & I still haven't seen you.  Are you going to come over this month? Things are going well with us but you know we can't go forward without you being here.  The fact is, we need you.

So, where are you?  Please come by soon.

Love always,
~Kelsey

Ride 'em, cowgirl!

Okay, I think this will be my last post for the day.. I think.

I just wanted to share with y'all the message I got earlier from someone when I said I was still TTC.

**TMI!**

She said "..try riding it then turn around and jump up and down and it will happen.."

Well, if this were true, I'd be a mommy to about upteen babies by now!  Thanks for the advice, Thelma!

Just found something interesting..

2009 Healthy Food Awards!

http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/selfs-2009-healthy-food-awards-504858/

I will have to keep this in mind when I go shopping tomorrow. I doubt they'll have half of this stuff in WalMart. I am not going anywhere else! I'll just have to do what I can with what they got at the local WalMart!

INSOMNIA STINKS

AHHH! WHAT AM I DOING UP RIGHT NOW? I guess it really doesn't matter since I'll be off 2 more days & I don't have anything that has to be done tomorrow.. today.

We need to go grocery shopping soon, but that probably won't be until Thursday. Definitely going to try to get more healthy snacks. I just have to try to stay away from snacks high in sugar because of my insulin resistance. I used to just grab things that said "low fat," but have you seen the sugar in some of that crap? My body is going to turn it into fat eventually, anyway!

I can't eat some things because I am lactose intolerant. Others I can't eat, well, simply because I am picky. I guess the more appropriate phrase would be "things I won't eat."

Why am I rambling on about this right now? I just need to go bed. See you soon blogosphere.

KIDS, KIDS, EVERYWHERE!

So, I just got done watching my cousin's kids. They are such a handful! She has 3 of them (4, 3 & 2). Wow!!! I wonder if I would be able to handle everything if I had triplets. I always say "I am so ready for a baby. Two babies, three babies, I don't care!" But can I handle it? Really?

Don't get me wrong, I love my godbabies to death! But with how young they are, it's hard to focus on all of them at the same time. It's like I'm being pulled in 3 different directions.

The youngest one, Andrew, has just recently started wearing "big boy panties." He is so frikkin' cute! Anyways, I kept asking him if he had to go & he said no. Well, he did have to go & he went all over our den floor..lol!! Then, his older brother Aiden (the 3 year old) said he had to go & on the way there he had an accident. So, here I am, no extra clothes with 2 little boys basically naked! I made them sit on a towel in the living room & watch tv until their mom got back (maybe 25-30 minutes).

Their sister Alyssa, the 4 year old, was pretty good. Luckily she didn't have any accidents! I took really cute pictures & of course, I can't find my cord to upload them. I promise I will turn this place upside down (more than it has already been tonight) & find it.

We played the "the floor is fire." A little game I came up with to keep them from running around all over the place. They actually do enjoy it. I scream when they put their toe on the floor. When I stand up we all scream & I jump back on the couch. I had to do something because it seems like they get into EVERYTHING.

I realized my house was completely un-childproofed. EVERY single thing in here is something that can be broken or that can hurt them. Andrew even touched the one socket in the living room that was within his reach & got a little shock. I really need to get it together!

Also, I need to buy some more toys for them to have at our house. I only have 2 toys. Hmm.. I'm going to go find that cord.

STARVING!

Ugh, I am so hungry I am getting sick. I don't know what to eat. I know what I WANT to eat. I want to hop in my car & go grab something from McDonalds or.. Burger King or something. But I need to stop doing that. So I am sitting here trying to figure out what we have that I should eat instead. Pshh.. we'll see.
